Rose Valley Free the Trees 2024

Community English Ivy Cutting Workshop and Free the Trees Event

Saturday, May 4 (rain-date Sunday, May 5)

Join fellow residents for Rose Valley’s FREE THE TREES WEEKEND and help free trees of invasive English ivy.

Learn how to manage English ivy at a Free the Trees Workshop. Then get to work freeing some trees! Bring loppers, shears and tools to pry off vines, and

wear work gloves, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Volunteers will meet at three different locations.

  • Boy Scouts and their families meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Mill.

  • Longpoint residents meet at 10:30 a.m. at #21 South Longpoint Lane.

  • Pool members and other volunteers meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Pool

parking lot.

Why remove English Ivy? It kills our trees, creating a risk to our environment, our homes, and ourselves. Click here to read more about the dangers of English Ivy and how to manage it correctly on your property.

Organized by the Rose Valley Environmental Advisory Council (RoseValleyEAC.org).
